OUR MISSION:

To provide educational, vocational, recreational and ambassadorial activities and experiences that promote and preserve the maritime history of Grays Harbor, the Pacific Northwest, and our nation while serving the needs of our community.

Longboats Capt. Matt Peasley & Hewitt R. Jackson, launched in 1993, are used primarily for youth programs on Grays Harbor. Our programs are the Longboat Club (a free after school program), weekend exploring expeditions in the Grays Harbor Estuary, and Project SAIL (Shaping Attitudes through Integrated Learning). GHHSA also partners with organisations outside of Grays Harbor on programs such as Sea, Sail, Science with the Spokane Parks Department and the University of Washington's Bridge Program for minority students.
