The Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain are proud to host corporate meetings, offsite social events, family reunions, class reunions, and weddings. We also charter our boats to motion picture and television production companies. Because our boats are constantly traveling, we strongly suggest planning your event or charter as far in advance as possible so that we can accomodate your needs. We welcome food and drink aboard, though galley facilities are limited. If a sail is part of your plans, Lady Washington can accommodate up to 45 guests; Hawaiian Chieftain can accommodate up to 43 guests. (These figures include children and babes-in-arms.) More guests can join you aboard if the boats remain at the dock. Our vessel masters are not empowered to perform marriage ceremonies. (More wedding photos)
Here are our per-boat, per-hour charter rates, with a three-hour minimum.

Information for motion picture and TV production companies
Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain are unique and highly recognizable properties available to film and video producers as historical sets, platforms for corporate training videos, advertising campaigns, documentary productions, short films, productions that launch new products, and other uses. Because both vessels are at sea most of the year, availability is dependent on ship location and schedules. GHHSA also offers movie and theatre set construction capabilities in our Spar Shop.
Lady Washington and/or sets constructed by GHHSA have appeared in numerous motion pictures since her launch in 1989. GHHSA film credits include:
- Star Trek: Generations (Paramount Pictures, 1994)
- The West (IMAX)
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl (Walt Disney Pictures, 2003)
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Walt Disney Pictures, 2006)
- Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Walt Disney Pictures, 2007)
- Blackbeard (Stonewerks Productions)
- The Real Story: Pirates of the Caribbean (Blink Films for the Smithsonian Channel, 2011)
Documentary or motion picture producers must supply in advance a script, a shot list, or a detailed summary of the project, including intended use of the moving images. GHHSA staff will evaluate the script and may discuss the content with the producer before arranging the charter.
